Fall is definitely in the air and with it sadly, the end of summer. We have had a wonderful summer this year with many warm and hot days. Perfect growing weather and our garden did show the results because of it.
With forty plus boxes/beds to grow things, we had an unimaginable amount of fresh vegetables. Over 30 plus people took advantage of our community gardens and grew many things.
The committee responsible for the community garden did a great job. They looked after and took care of everything and everyone...great job and thank you for all you did!
Some of the many things grown include beans, both green and yellow, many varieties of leaf lettuce, kale, potatoes, beets, many varieties and colours of tomatoes, cucumber, zucchini, cauliflower, carrots, squash, rhubarb, celery, red cabbage, peppers, garlic, green onions, and radishes to name some of the many varieties.
We enjoyed a great variety of flowers, chipmunks and birds while visiting the gardens as well.
As you will see, our gardens are showing signs of a harvest and I know many people enjoyed some wonder fresh vegetables.
While I didn't have a garden I was the recipient of some wonderful fresh tomatoes and other good things. On the subject of tomatoes, there was one lady who certainly deserves the title of tomato queen, the tomatoes were large and great tasting.
Thank you for the opportunity of photographing everything and also you if you happened to be in any of the photos.
I hope to see you all next year!
