Canada Day, July 1st, 2020

Image
TO ALL OUR MEMBERS, NEIGHBOURS AND FRIENDS......                HAPPY CANADA DAY! It is with deep regret that for the first time in many years we have not been able to celebrate together in our back yard, with great food, music, dancing and games. However with the threat still hovering over us, the committee elected to do our part in social distancing to keep everyone safe. Hopefully we will be able to celebrate next year and do it up in fine style!! Again, Happy Canada Day to all!.....Keep safe! ROAC..  Barb Petkovich, President

And So a New Season Begins.........

Image
The 2020 garden season has begun....and we have had record weather for the month of May which has made for a difficult beginning. During the first days of May we had record cold and snow. During this last week of May we had record heat and humidity.  To put it in  perspective, last year, we did not have 30 degree weather until July. If that were not enough, we now have a pandemic to add to the problems. Welcome to the new normal!.... There is new set of rules regarding the garden which we are being asked to follow. They are available in the garden with regards to planting, watering, etc. There are rules with regards to the number of people at anytime. Social distancing is a must and please do not move the chairs that have been placed by Dale to keep all of us the proper distance apart. Thanks Dale for all you do. Considering the slow start to the season, growth has begun... You will notice this sign as you approach the garden area, please take a moment ...

SIgns on Autumn are appearing....

Signs of autumn are starting to appear, the wind is not as warm as it once was, the vegetables are ripening and ready to be picked, another cycle is coming to fruition. The flowers are in full bloom.... There are many birds and chipmunks that can be seen... The gardens are starting to show that crops are being picked! Finally....a couple of special places in the gardens!
